Join Our Foster Family!
We are ALWAYS in desperate need of fosters!
Simply put, we CANNOT rescue more animals without fosters. We are 100% foster based, meaning we do not have a shelter or kennel, so all our animals are housed in foster homes while they wait to be adopted. This means that if we don't have foster homes, we have nowhere to put any new rescues. Fostering is an incredibly rewarding and self-less act. Want to learn how you can become a foster? Keep reading!
Q: How much does it cost me to become a foster?
A: Practically NOTHING! We provide all essential supplies like food, collars, leashes, and identification tags. We also provide medical care for your foster animal, at no cost to you!
However, if you wish to purchase food on your own for your foster animal, that is always greatly appreciated!!
Q: What is expected of me as a foster?
A: We ask that you to have reliable transportation in order to pick up and drop off your foster animal to our veterinary clinic in Pasadena. However, if this is not possible, please let us know and we will do our best to work with you.
Besides providing a warm and safe environment for your foster animals, we hope you will help them become more adoptable through basic training (sit, potty training, walking on a leash, etc). Please also take as many pictures and/or videos of your foster animal to post on social media to help them find their forever homes!
Q: How long do I have to foster for?
A: That is up to you! However, we always need committed fosters who can foster until their animal is adopted. This usually ranges anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months. If you'd only like to be short-term emergency foster (3 full days) please let us know in your foster app!
Q: Why do I have to fill out a foster app and have a home check?
A: Our main priority is the safety of our animals. We do not mean to invade your privacy, but we do need to make sure your house and yard are secure so that your foster animal is not able to easily escape.
Foster apps help us learn more about you so we can make sure we match you with a foster animal suitable for you. For example, if you have cats, we need to know so we don't ask you to foster a cat-chasing dog!
Q: What if I want to adopt my foster animal? (aka Foster Fail!)
A: We do not allow "foster fails" for dogs under 6 months of age. However, if you are fostering an adult or senior pup and are interested in being their forever home, then we will ask you to go through the same process as all other applicants. ****PLEASE NOTE: Fostering an animal does NOT guarantee approval of adoption for that animal.****
Q: Alright, I'm ready to help SAVE LIVES!
